A state media report says a gas blast in a coal mine in southwestern China has killed 10 people.
Xinhua News Agency said today that the blast on Sunday evening was in Panxian county in Guizhou province.
It says 11 miners were working underground and one survived the blast with burns to his arms. It did not immediately give any other details.
China's mining industry is the deadliest in the world, although the government has improved safety standards in recent years.
