Elderly pedestrian in Sydney killed

A pedestrian in his 70s has been struck and killed by a car while crossing a road in western Sydney.
The accident occurred in Greenacre about 6pm (AEST) on Friday.
The driver failed to stop at the scene of the Waterloo Road incident, but went to Campsie police station a short time later.

The driver of another vehicle stopped to give first aid but the man died at the scene.
Waterloo Road between Rawson and Northcott roads was closed for four hours as police examined the scene.
